So.............. It seems that I have fallen into the redundancy regime with this current climate taking its toll. The government predict that in the UK 1,600 people a day will lose their job in 2009. I say that the Credit Crunch will kill the weak, you will only let yourself be beaten by it so do not lose your drive if the same happens to you.

I guess you have to be like a crow, have that instinct and intelligence to adapt and survive. If you do become redundant then get yourself on a short course in an area you dont have decent strengths in but wish to pursue and above all keep designing.

I have taken it on the chin and have now started up my freelance career which is something I have always wanted to do. Ok so I might be skint for a while, and I dont expect it to BOOM, but I must be prepared for the best and worse and if I want the work I will get off my arse and find it. I have also been fortunate to work alongside a contemporary company called Lazerian based in Manchester. Its a breath of fresh air in all honesty, their work is astonishing and they have let me come on board to produce their in house design material and as their business developer in order to push the company forward. Within a week I have already put lots of ideas on the table and we hope that within the next few weeks/month Lazerian will take off. [link]

So keep on with your mouse trigger finger, get open your adobe suite and pull those designs out of the onion bag and dont let the credit crunch make you suffer. If it all goes tits up then get on the t'interweb and move abroad to places like Dubai where design is booming, the weather in hot and the beauty of not paying tax.
